We stayed in the Rose Cottage over New Years and had the most relaxed and comfortable stay. The cottage is modern and situated up a private drive on the hill away from other cabins. Dog friendly accommodation and great walking tracks. Would recommend packing lawn games, a good book and indoor games/cards. If you’re wanting to switch off from the grid it’s a great place to stay!
Great place to stay. Powered sites are generous. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Location was beautiful and plenty of spots to access the river for swimming, fishing, tubing or canoeing. Lots of lovely places to walk. Very dog friendly and lots of really responsible dog owners - there’s even a doggy menu at the bistro. Bistro food was delicious and good sized portions. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.
We had a chance to visit the park as part of our trip and found the team there to be friendly, courteous and utterly professional.
We had lunch there and i had a steak with dianne sauce and it was to die for..
The service and the taste of the food was as good as anything in Sydney. The family run business and the layout of the park is why we are making a detour there this weekend with 3 other vans to experience the full benefits of this amazing park.. if you just want to relax and still have some home style comforts.... this is the place.. regards
We stayed in a Timber Park Cabin for a few days over the Christmas break. The cabin had a cockroach problem to the extent I was woken up during the night with a cockroach crawling on me. Cabins aren't the best layout if you have children that go to bed early as the bunks are opposite the bathroom so they are disturbed everytime you go to the bathroom. We were provided with one roll of toilet paper for 4 people for 4 days. The speed limits are not adhered to or policed so we felt unsafe leaving our child outside.
The restaurant is disgustingly over priced, $15 for 'handmade' cheesecake that was 4cm wide and come frozen out of a packet. My brother in law became ill after eating a chicken burger from the canteen. The water out of the tap was an off colour and had a strange taste so we had to buy bottles from the canteen and restaurant at an exorbitant price.
Love how pet friendly this place is, we have camped at the park previously with no issues however would not recommend a cabin. And no, we did not advise management of every issue we had as we wouldn't have had time to do anything else.
The location is very nice and peaceful. The river was a lovely experience for swimming and kayaking and lots of other activities on offer.
However, when camping there the amenities are a very long walk, making it difficult for those with children in particular. We found them to be less than clean and at least one toilet was clogged on a daily basis :(
Plan to take enough milk as we paid $8.80 for a 2 litre. A bit excessive.
Absolute slice of heaven! Stayed in a timber park cabin and had a fantastic time. Plenty of swimming spots, very well spaced out, great facilities.... restaurant, bar, pool tables, kiosk, swimming pool...
We had our dog with us and he loved it! Dogs are welcomed with open arms and catered for so well. Complimentary poo bag stations, plenty of water bowls. So many lovely places to walk and swim in the river with the dog.
The cabins were well equipped. Fridge was a little small was our only complaint...but we had an esky to keep drinks cold.
Will definitely be back.
We stayed here for a week. Loved it all. Dance for New Year’s Eve was great so much fun. The cafe was good to get hot chips and take away coffee. The restaurant was very good. A great meal. Staff are so friendly. Couldn’t do enough for …
Stayed in the riverside cabins for 2 night stay. Everything you need for a relaxing weekend, little cooking stove did the job perfectly for making simple meals. Comfy bed, air-conditioning kept us cool as a hot weekend. Loved the option of canoes and went upstream, encounted local wildlife...will be back to one of the riverside camp spots
Absolutely beautiful place. My partner an I are getting married here in June an can't wait. The venue is magnificent an the staff are amazing to deal with. Would strongly recommend Riverwood Downs.
We were there for a family wedding. |It is a lovely location but it would be best if you had a 4 wheel drive to get there as the dirt road is extremely bad and long. It was very hot and the air con was not very cold. We stayed in a spa …
